For the Children

The month of June has been proclaimed by our leaders as a celebration of “Pride”. What are we celebrating? Well, when it comes right down to it… Sin. We are not supposed to say that out loud, of course. We use euphemisms like, “acceptance and equality”, “upholding the dignity of all people”, or “communal celebration of visibility and a personal celebration of self-worth” *. What is actually being celebrated are lifestyle choices diametrically opposed to the framework that God created for human sexuality.
But celebrate we do, and we do it relentlessly. We fly the various flags from government buildings, our sports teams use special uniforms and logos, our corporations wage special ad campaigns with special products (See Kohl’s), and it is difficult to even find a television show that isn’t producing a storyline to promote the narrative.
A recent episode of Blue’s Clues included a special Pride Month song that include the lyrics:
“This family has two mommies, they love each other so proudly.”
“This family has two daddies, they love each other so proudly.”
“These babas are nonbinary, they love each other so proudly.”
“Trans members of this family all love each other so proudly.”
“Some people choose their family, they love each other so proudly.”
“Ace, bi, and pan grownups, you see, can love each other so proudly.”
“All families are made differently, they love each other so proudly.”
The video imagery is full of pride symbols, a drag queen, and smiling animated animals representing all kinds of “family” members. Blue’s Clues is a show produced by Nick Jr., a network for young children, and their specific target audience for Blue’s Clues is three- to six-year-olds. Call me an ignorant retrograde (you probably already have!), but I don’t even know what non-binary, babas, ace, or pan mean in this context. Yet this is what our society deems appropriate for toddlers.
Progressives have successfully used indoctrination of the children to completely transform our society over the past decades. We’ve gone roaring past normalization of deviant sexual behaviors to proudly promoting debauchery.
For over thirty years our children have been taught that thy are “the most important person” and that their place in society is determined by their identity. Identities, in this sense, are the intersection of superficial physical attributes (e.g., melanin content of our skin), familial origins (tribes), and emotional preferences (how we choose to identify). This combination of elevated self-importance and exaggerated emotional identity result in self-worship. Children become their own little gods with their own special identities where the greatest good is self-satisfaction and the greatest value is the honor and acceptance that they are owed by others for their specialness. Some become so enamored of the attributes to which they identify that they pursue glorification of their identity above everything else.
We see this manifested at many of our liberal arts colleges, when students that are exposed to speakers or ideas that contradict their own beliefs hold protests and claim that they feel “unsafe”, that any disagreement is “hate speech”, or that speech they find offensive is actually violence and must be suppressed. The reason for this irrational overreaction is that they have adopted their beliefs as their identities. Contradictory beliefs are no longer just about differing ideas and values, they are perceived as an attack on their very being.
This is incredibly sad on many levels, but especially when we consider the individual human lives that have been consumed by this phenomenon. Imagine the insecurity and fragility of someone who’s entire being and purpose are defined by their internal sexual desires. The essence of who they are is wrapped up in their emotions.
In Paul’s letter to the Romans, he writes:
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.” [Romans 1:18-27]
And now they are coming for the children. What will be the response of the Church? We can ignore it, which is certainly the “safest” approach in our current cultural climate. We can embrace it. Our local evangelical Lutheran church is installing their first transgender bishop this month. Or we can proclaim the Truth.
We don’t have to be enslaved to the identities of our emotional desires. We are image bearers of God. We are created by Him. We are loved by Him, and He has given us a way to be His children. The Truth is so much better than the lies. Are we bold enough to proclaim it? If for nothing else, let us do it for the children.

Thank you for exposing the truth amidst the total darkness.
