The Mission

As Christians, we are aliens living in a post-Christian culture that is becoming increasingly hostile to our foundational beliefs and doctrines. I have become convinced that this hostility will likely grow over the coming months and years, and that the American evangelical Church will progress from dismissed, to disrespected, to disdained, to persecuted.

In 1 Timothy 3:12, Paul says, “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and imposters will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” We have been blessed to live in a country where religious liberty is a constitutionally protected right. The American Church has never experienced persecution, and we are woefully unprepared for it. When the Covid-19 virus hit and health officials issued decrees to shut down our churches, the vast majority folded like a cheap tent.

History teaches us that when persecution comes, institutional churches will either succumb to the requirements of the persecutors, or they will simply fold. Based on our experience during the past year, I have little confidence that American churches will be the exception. Through times of persecution, the Church survives, perseveres, and grows when believers come together to worship informally and, when necessary, illegally.

The reason I setup this website is to provide a non-social-media space for those “who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus” to be able to openly discuss culture and the Church, share concerns about false and questionable teaching in the Church, and to encourage one another as we hold firm to the Truth to which we have been called.

As we prepare ourselves for what is to come, I ask that you join me in committing to the following:

  • Pray fervently for wisdom, discernment, and courage.

  • Pray and encourage the leadership of our local churches and hold them accountable to teach the Gospel.

  • Pray for revival in our nation.

  • Join a local group of like-minded believers who are committed to standing firm in the Faith. Keep in mind that when all hell breaks loose, these may be the only people that will stand with you.

Ironically, as Christians become increasingly marginalized in our culture, we have the solutions that the world is looking for. Our mission then is simple; Be the Church!

Well said. I have always taught our kids that they are part of a hopeless generation and that they (our kids) need to be prepared to share the light of Jesus in a dark world. Even before Covid and our eccelerated slide into totalitarianism I predicted that the American church would shrink in numbers but that true believers would strengthen their faith like never before. Now we are searching for that body of believers that refuse to follow our culture and choose to unwaveringly follow Christ.
