Random Observations - v3

Some random observations that I’ve collected over the past few weeks. Does it seem like today's satire is tomorrow's news?
Our surveillance state continues to expand its reach. The Biden administration is working on a vaccine mandate for federal workers and contractors (except for a few unions that donated to the correct candidates). Several counties, including the one in which I currently reside, have instituted vaccine passports for restaurants, bars, gyms, dance studios, theaters, and other performance venues. You must show a valid drivers’ license and your CDC vaccination card. You don’t need to show an ID to cast a ballot, but want to grab a burger and a beer at the local pub? “Your papers please!
There will be a few of us that won’t comply, but the vast majority will go along willingly. In fact, there is a significant percentage of people that are not only cheering the current mandates, but insisting we need even more. Our leaders are just keeping us “safe”; don’t you know?
My favorite Samuel Adams quote seems increasingly appropriate, "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
The people of California have spoken! The recall failed in a rout. Roughly 2/3 of Californians have voted to retain Gov Gav. It seems the vast majority of my fellow residents approve of socialism, rampant homelessness, the destruction of our middle class, mass government dependency, gross hypocrisy, indoctrinating our kids, and giving our elite rulers control over every aspect of our lives.
There comes a point when a formerly free American has to say, “That’s it – I’m not taking anymore.” Between the ridiculous mandates, the governmental incompetence, and the mindless enthusiastic compliance with stupidity, I’ve now reached that point. It’s sad and disappointing. I’ve never lived anywhere else, and I never really wanted to. But I have come to the simple realization that my fellow Californians want to create a society that is far, far different from the one I want to live in.
So, it’s time to move on. It’s time to find a place where we can worship in freedom, take responsibility and make decisions for ourselves and our families, and live amongst people that share our values. Maybe I’m delusional in thinking that America still exists out there. Or maybe it’s just a matter of time before the entire country becomes Californicated. But I’ve got to believe there are still places where true Americans still exist and will fight to be free. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Alexei Navalny is a Russian dissident that was poisoned with a nerve agent by the Russian security services, most likely on the orders of Vladimir Putin, in 2020. He lived but is now in prison. His supporters created an app to coordinate opposition for the upcoming “elections”.
The Russian government demanded that Apple and Google remove the app from their app store and, sadly, both companies complied. What’s worse, Apple has disabled its privacy feature in the app which enables the Russian government to surveil those who use the app.
We need to understand that these companies are complicit in evil. They willingly side with totalitarians every time because they share their totalitarianism. We need to extricate ourselves from their platforms – and soon.
I recently wrote a letter to President Biden, asking him to resign. I received a nice letter back from the Whitehouse this past week. They tell me they greatly value my opinion! So, I've got that going for me, which is nice. Surprisingly though, they haven't reached out to seek my advice on anything. They must have lost my contact info.. :)
